Overview

Manage Social Feeds is a tool that displays an Instagram account’s own posts as a gallery on a website operated by that account’s owner. If you are an Instagram Business or Creator account holder and you connect your account to this tool, this policy explains what data we access, how we use it, how we store it, and how you can remove it.

This policy covers the connected Instagram account holder (“you”). It does not collect information about people who simply visit a website where a gallery is displayed.

What we access

When you connect your Instagram account, you grant read-only access through the Instagram API using a single permission, instagram_business_basic. Using that permission we access:

  • Profile information — your Instagram username, account ID, account type, profile picture, and follower/media counts.
  • Your media — the photos, video thumbnails, and carousel items you have posted, along with their captions, permalinks, and the date each was posted.

We do not access your comments, direct messages, insights, the identities of people who like or comment on your posts, or any account other than the one you connect. We have read-only access: we cannot post, edit, delete, or otherwise change anything on your Instagram account.

How we use it

We use this data for one purpose: to display your own recent posts as a gallery on the website you control. To keep the gallery current, the tool periodically retrieves your latest posts (approximately every six hours). We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics about other people, or any purpose unrelated to showing your posts on your site.

How we store and secure it

  • Your posts and a copy of the post images are stored on your own website (in its media library and database), so the website serves its own copies rather than hotlinking Instagram.
  • The access token that authorizes retrieval is encrypted at rest on your website and is used only to fetch your posts and to renew itself before it expires.
  • During the initial connection, the authorization is processed by our secure connection service at [connect.dirigible.studio] solely to complete the sign-in handshake. That service does not retain your access token after the connection completes.

How we share it

We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. The posts you choose to display are shown publicly on your website by design, mirroring the fact that they are already public on your Instagram profile.

Data retention

We keep your data only while your account remains connected. When you disconnect your account, revoke access from Instagram, or request deletion, the stored data is removed as described in our Data Deletion Instructions: [https://dirigible.studio/data-deletion].

Your choices and rights

You can disconnect your account or request deletion of your data at any time. See the Data Deletion Instructions linked above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data; contact us at the email above to exercise them.

Instagram and Meta

This tool uses the Instagram API provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. It is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise affiliated with Meta. Your use of Instagram remains subject to Instagram’s own Terms of Use and Data Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date at the top of this page.
